I have realized that in many occasions, teachers, tutors and in my case parents that home school, doubt very much of the what activities to do with the little ones because they are very difficult or need many materials and the adult has to put a lot of effort on preparing it. I have also realized that those little minds do not need much to be able to learn something, they do not need expensive books or materials, they just need a little push, they need to have fun while learning.
For that reason I am going to be sharing with you an activity that I put together for my 4 year old son. It is easy and you probably already have all the materials.
You need:
Any sensory material that you have around (beads, rice, grains)
Alphabet letters of any kind (wood, paper, magnets)
Tray
Sight words (hand written, printed or flash cards)

Make sure you put this together before your child sees it.
Lets say you have 4 sight words to work with, the first step is to take the same amount of alphabet letters. After you gather them all, mix them with the sensory material and put them in the tray. Put the tray in a flat surface and accommodate the sight words around it.
When doing this activity with a little one, explain that they have to find the hidden letters, form the sight words and match them with those already placed on the table (flat surface). Bonus point if they try to read it.
-You can have fun taking some letters out and see if they can figure out which letters are missing.
- Also, you can play with upper and lower case letters and combine them all to make it a little bit more exciting.
If you give this a try, I would love to see pictures of it and share it on my Instagram stories. Don't forget to use the hashtag #bilingualmomslife
